Elbphilharmonie

An impressive architectural masterpiece, the Elbphilharmonie, was built in Hamburg on the foundation of an old quay warehouse. The building appears monumental and creates a unique connection between history and modernity: the lower part of the building is made of the solid brick of the original warehouse, while the upper part is made of a wave-shaped glass structure reminiscent of the movements of water.

Individually designed cloakroom systems from SCHNEEWEISS interior have found their way into this architectural highlight. A cloakroom area was completely redesigned and developed for the Elbphilharmonie and its special requirements. This should offer a total of 3,000 cloakroom spaces. The cloakroom design was formally based on the round, wave-like curves of the roof of the Elbphilharmonie. Similar to the floating Great Hall, the cloakrooms made of round steel tubes were also supposed to be suspended from the ceiling - a demanding challenge. The connection to the ceiling was made almost invisible, which required particularly precise work.

Thanks to this careful and innovative design, the cloakroom area fits seamlessly into the overall concept of the Elbphilharmonie and contributes to the unique atmosphere of this cultural landmark.
